Hello,
I was just wondering. I ran a new Win 223 Rem case through a 17 Rem FL die. The result looked exactly like a 17 Rem factory case, except the neck is shorter. Will this work in a factory 17 Rem barrel, in terms of safety for me and the rifle? In my minds eye, I see it being akin to firing a 38 in a 357 Mag chamber, (Just an increase in freebore) or is there something that I am missing? Have a Good Day

Tackdriver I form my own 17 brass from either win. or rem .223 brass. I have a double ended 17 form die from Bullberry that will form 17 rem from .223 or 17M4 from 221FB brass. My 17 rem brass comes out about .30 thousandths shorter than factory stuff, but I load and shoot them just fine in my 17 Rem. rifles. |
