From Jerrill Mattingly, and will post some pictures tonight. They are plexi glass and much lighter than the aluminum set I have. 5 plates of 200 holes each for jackets and two other plates for inserting jackets and cores along with a blanking plate.

Looking forward to giving them a run through.

Michael

How thick is the plexiglass?

Did he drill all the way through?

If he did what are you using for a bottom if you need to move them?

Drew the 5 jacket plates are not drilled all the way through the two beveled top plates are for jackets and cores. Spread them out and they drop in through the holes into the plate below. Much better than stuffing jackets by hand.

I got mine from Speedy some time ago but they look the same. They were pretty pricey, $375 or so at the time. Mine are caliber specific and designed to be used with .30 cal bullet making. I don't know how they would work with other calibers.

They certainly save a lot of time/energy when making bullets, as well they reduce handling of the jackets and degreased cores.

Be nice if one of you fellows would show these in use.

Just plates with holes in them leave someone like me wondering.

Thanks much,

George

George or anyone else interested heres the principal on using the set- up plates.

The bottom plate is drilled to accept the jackets but not drilled all the way through. The top plate has radiused holes in it, to act as a funnel. Jacket are spread upon this top plate which in turn fall though into the holes in the bottom plate. The core top plate with slightly smaller radiused holes replaces the jacket top plate and it works on the same principal. A blanking plate of 1/8" Lexen is placed between the top and bottom plates Cores all poured into the box on top of the plate and they find there way through the holes onto the blanking plate which is slowly removed and the cores find their way into the empty jackets This is done for all the bottom plates which each hold 200 jackets or until you run out of cores/ jackets.
Hopefully the pictures are of some use.

I put the shallow funnels on the tray then pour 200 jackets in. Then I replace shallow with deep funnels and set assembly aside. I put shallow funnels directly in holder and pour in 200 cores. stand both assemblies on end, mate them up and invert so jackets fall over the cores. when you invert again the jackets fall into the tray with cores inside.

I recently bought a set of 6mm trays from Jerry Mattingly and couldn't have been more satisfied. The entire transaction was a breeze and the product is first class.
