Jim/others:
I'd like to find someone that makes .224" bullets from these LR jackets.

I've shot some from two makers and neither are around now. They were plenty good enough for my shooting. At least they'd give me an excuse for missing now and then!!

I'd also like to see some pics up close of the dies, punch's etc used for making jackets. I'd like to try my hand at making a set up.

Thanks much,

George

Mr. Steve at .303british.com sells bullets made with rimfire jackets. No idea if he would sell just the jackets. You could ask. He is in Cananda. I am sure that is a big help, but "brass cups???" shouldn't be too big a deal.

There was someone on ebay trying to sell rimfire cases made into jackets. That wasn't too long ago but with the ban on gun related anything on ebay, might be too late now to find them. At the same time, they may move to gunbroker.com or that firearms auction ".com" site. luck. :o

Thank you.
Gosh, just got buried under .224's since this was started. Won't never need to buy more, except 40gr v max.

Will need another bucket full of brass now, hehe.

You might peruse:

http://www.corbins.com/prrfjm.htm

These folks show some pictures of their wares for making bullets with 22LR swaged jackets. Last I heard they only made steel dies, and did not offer carbide; but some casual reading might give some ideas.

J4 is a large jacket maker, at least in the benchrest area.

FWIW,
