Just curious as to what other bullet makers are expericing/finding when making bullets with the new Sta-Moly jackets
The only ones that I have used are the 6mm .790" & .820" and so far they are as user friendly as the J4's
What I am finding they are a bit larger/oversize compared to J4's and are a bit of pain to point-up ( having to use much more pressure pushing into the die especially when making boat tail bullets
Just curious to hear from others
Cheers

My experience has been just the opposite. External and internal dimensions of the Sta Moly have been very similar to J4s and Sierras and very uniform. From bullet one I was impressed with the ease and smoothness that the material worked in the dies, particularly ejection from the point up die, very smooth and uniform. Finished dimensions and meplats were very uniform.
Some have indicated finding a need for a little more lube on the new Sta Moly and Bart's jackets as compared to J4s and this may very well be true.
