shot this doe tonight from my ground blind, she was 139 yards away. destroyed her liver and she ran maybe 25 yards before piling up in the woods.

gave it to my 84 year old neighbor, she loves venison.

Nice job. Not an easy shot with a pistol.

What caliber handgun were you using foxhunter?

it was a chip shot, longest deer shot so far 265 yards.
6mm br 80 gr sierra pistol bullet 2910 fps. shot a coyote last deer season at 210 with it and a skunk at 165. she's a .50 shooter if I do my job, not so easy these days.
scope is a bushnell 4x12 or 3x12, can't remember with 4 reticle points, 100,210,275,310.
I was shooting from my home built ground blind, it has a built in shooting shelf. used a harris and sandbag, figured since I was hunting meat for neighbor, the first deer out was doomed. as I shot I saw 12-15 white flars go up in the woods behind her. there is no telling what they were but a big buck may have been with them. at 84 a stringy old buck might be a little more than she could chew.

found the heel of the bullet under the hide on the opposite side. core had separated from the jacket, but as they say "dead is dead", very little meat damage.

Dead is dead. But core separations aren't ideal. I know some guys who use ballistic tips successfully in their 6br's.

Very nice setup foxhunter. We don't have a season for handguns, but love to carry them in our rifle season. My favorite is a 14" contender in 358 JDJ
