I am loading rounds for a friend a couple states away and don't have the gun in hand to test, so I am counting on you guns to give me some good info.

the rifle is a savage 12 single shot with a 1-9 twist this is a factory barrel and rifle.

I have new win. 22-250 brass and 75 grain hornady A-Max

I need powder, laod in grains, primer, and OAL of case and bullet seated close to lands. I don't need loads that are real hot.

Thanks MK

Last year with some great friends from here as well as yourself and going through your part of the country has been some of my best memories ever! Not sure how things will pan out but you can bet if I am able to go again and we are going through we will be looking you up for sure... Might have to bring some project for you to work on! :D

I use 36.0 gr of H414. Have a 1/9 twist shilen barrel and this load works really well in it. I only get about 3100 fps , but I don't think you have to push these that fast for them to be good. Have gotten a good number of ground hogs with this out to over 1000 yd the last couple of years.

I'm not saying you're wrong but are you sure of the twist rate? I had heard that Savage was going to release 9 twist 250 barrels but I can only find the 1-12" twist on their website. Incidentally, does anyone know what the max weight would be for a 12 twist barrel?
