I have two of them. One is a Remington 700. The barrel is of unknown origin. It started as a 22-250 heavy barrel 1-8" twist. The previous owner rechambered it to 22 Dasher. This was the first rifle I ever saw consistently hit eggs @ 500 yards. When it came up for sale I bought it.

The second rifle is a Savage "J" action, trued & timed with a 28" Shilen 1-8" twist barrel, in a Stockade Benchrest stock. It will occasionally shoot 1" groups @ 500 yards, meaning that when I read windflags correctly, the rifle performs perfectly.

The Dasher case is made from a 6 BR, improved with the shoulder blown forward. I shoot 80gr Sierra Danzac coated match bullets. 80gr Bergers shoot nearly as well and 75gr Vmaxes not so well. I have only shot H4350 powder. the 6mmBR website fives some additional load info

Being a small caliber guy my Dasher is a .20 and not a .22 but here's a picture setting next to a .20 BR and some other .20's for comparison. The .20 BR and .20 Dasher are the 2 on the far right.

Here's a 5 shot group using the 40 grain V-Max.

Here's a picture of the Chronograph tape shot with the above group.

Kinda says it all huh?

Mine is actualy a 22BRX which is a 22BR cases blown forward .100" but with the same 30 degree shoulder VS 40 degree dasher shoulder. I use mine for F class and is my favourite cartridge. I save mine for longer ranges at open prize shoots and next weekend will be using it in a 1000,1100 and 1200 yd shoot in Central NSW. I use 80gn bullets in it though as it has an 8" twist. I have some spare barrels which I was going to chamber in the same cartridge and fit it to my Rem 700 to use as a general hunting rifle, good for fox, rabbits, cats, then load it with Barnes bullets for use on pigs and goats.
I can load up to 35 gns of powder in it by tapping the funnel/drop tube as the poder slowly trickles down to get more powder in. I would guess you could maybe get up to 37-38gn in a Dasher if you use regular 55gn bullets.
Not much help with loads, but I like the improved BRs.

I have a .22 Dasher barreled action (8 twist Kreiger barrel on a Rem 600 action). I'd like some advise on an all around one-bullet/one powder combination for this rifle. It is to be a dedicated long distance rock chuck and coyote gun (500-800 yards----I don't think I could hit anything at a 1000 yards:( ). I would appreciate any suggestions for a one bullet/one powder combination for this rifle, given the above shooting objectives. Also, FWIW, the barrel is a heavy target contour and 28" long.

All advise is appreciated.

75gn A max is the most likely to expand and is a good accurate bullet with good BC. H4350 is a good powder and 36gns of H4350 will be a good starting load.
