G'day All

I am wondering if anyone loads 20 VT using Hodgdon powders? If so, which powder & how much for different projectiles. I have access to quite a range of ADI [Hodgdon] powders through my local rifle association and am about to put in an order for some more cases, powders, primers & projectiles [mainly for my F Class rifles].

Thanks in advance

I have had fair success with 32 grain bullets using H 4198 starting at 17.6 grains and working my way up as pressures dictated. VV N120 and H 4198 are the only powders I have worked with extensively in the 20 VT.

Good luck,
Gary

Heres the reply I got when I asked if there were any plans for data.

At this time I don’t think there are any plans to purchase the equipment needed to do load development for the 20 Vartarg. Honestly, there just isn’t the interest in the cartridge. Sorry.

I am loading 2207 (H4198) in my Cooper M38 MTV 20VT. I am at 18.5 grains with a 32Vmax.

I love the caliber, enough that I am looking at building one in a full custom rifle.

Out of the little case you get a lot of performance!

Thanks for the replies. Your responses fit well with the research I have done namely that AR2207 [H4198] seems to be a good powder. Having read about the 20VT it seems that it is an extremely good performer 'pound for pound'. I intend using it as a 'bunny buster' and on other lightweight, thin skinned animals.

Thanks again
