Is anyone using Varget for their 20BR?
If there is, would you mind sharing your load data? Most importantly what would be considered maximum?
Thanks.

Varget is the powder that I got the best accuracy from and is what I have been shooting exclusively for several years.
Load as follows.

Rem 6BR cases
40 V-Max
BR4 primers
30 1/2gr Varget
Approx 4000 fps.

This is as hot of load as I want to shoot in my rifle but leaves a little margin for safety.
Back off a couple grains to start and see where you end up.

Hope this helps.

There are a lot of powders that shoot well in the 20BR.
I had 4 or 5 that all shot the same but when I shot at 300 yds the Varget held the tightest groups. Couldn't tell the difference at 100.

YMMV

Not quite got my hands on my 20BR yet, any week now hopefully but all the reserch I did both with Quickload and talking to some users imply that around 31.0 gr of N150 should be ideal pressure wise for my planned 50 gr bullet. Should give about 3600-3800 depending on tube length and outstanding accuracy. The 39/40gr should be close to 4000.

I dont have QL on this box but my tests with faster powders (H322 & N133)that I thought should be Ok showed BIG pressure spikes. However Todd Kindlers book shows 30.5gr of Varget moving a 40 gr pill at 3504 and 35.1gr at just over 4000. He also shows loads for H322 that are well into the red danger area in Quickload. Varget is about midway between N133/H322 and N150.

So looks like you can use it but be carefull, start low, work up etc etc.

Big game seems to work nicely with 50's as well.
