Did you rechamber a .204 Ruger barrel, or use a new blank?

I used a new blank being offered on Gunbroker, it was really a pain in the ass to make and I probably would not do another the way I did this one. I will try to shoot it tomorrow. Larry

I shot it today, put 40 rounds through it with no problems, no blown cases, no stuck cases and every round fired. Accuracy was medium good, I shot at 50 yards with a 3-9 scope from sand bags, standard Handi trigger. Groups were 3/4 inch horizontal and about 2 1/2 vertical, the picture below is a 5 shot group. The two shots that were low sooted up the cases, about 1 in five did this with this batch of ammo, so I am thinking this is what they are talking about with the first run of ammo being defective. The vertical stringing could also just be the typical Handi being fickel. I think it would be just fine with a little work. Not much else to say, it shoots and didn't blow up so life is good. Larry

That is really cool!! I was somewhat surprised that NEF didn't decide to make one of these.... Now all ya need is a centerfire frame that this will fit onto and load your own!!! Thanks for sharing such a cool project!!

Glad to see it's working OK. :) I'm sure you'll get the stringing worked out.

If Marilin would chamber that cartridge in a bolt gun I would be happy too. Or maybe a Ruger 77/5mm...

I'd be curious how he did the barrel on the Handi. Larry

He used a shotgun H&R and threaded the new barrel a Green Mountian into it looked pretty slick.
