It started out with a walnut stock, which was replaced with a green painted version and now the green has been camouflaged..........

The bolt head was bushed and a Sako extractor added

A Hollands Quick Discharge muzzle break keeps the target in the scope on firing.

The Camo was accomplished by cutting out a bunch of masking-tape shapes and laying them on the green stock, spraying with Dessert Tan paint, then more Masking-tape shapes and spraying with OD Green.....Came out pretty neat if I do say so myself...

Thanks! Those brakes that Darrell Holland makes are a real quality item, and they work great!

After feeling it....is the #3 the perfect walkabout countour? I wonder if it's a shade heavier than needed....thoughts?

It is a "shade" larger than needed, agreed......But in a PD town I wanted something a little heavier to cut down on recoil and to aid in slowing down the heat-up. The Pac-Nor #3 Contour fit the bill perfectly......

My BG hunting rifles all get #3 contour barrels. Scoped they seem to come in about 8 Lbs about perfect in my book.

Nice rifle Roy, When you guys get old. The closer to five pound for a limp around rifle the better you will like it. lol Kenny

Very funny!

Actually this same rifle now wears an even lighter stock. On my way up to Maine to hunt Coyotes, I stopped in at a new Cabelas and in the Bargain Cave I found a nice, lightweight, Remington take-off camo stock for $79. Dropped the weight of the rifle nearly 1 pound...........
