I seen midway is carring 30 gr Barnes VG for the hornet and was thinking about picking some up, just wondering if anyone has shot any yet?

No, but I do have some 27 gr 204s that I intend to try out this spring! I have been hearing mixed results with the VGs so far....

I have launched about 70 rounds downrange out of my 204. All my test subjects have been under 200 yards. I have nothing good to say about bullet performance. Even a 30 yard shot on a starling produced a exit hole the size of my thumb. Might as well have been using 22 cb caps. If you are looking for a dramatic effect, look elsewhere. The man from Barnes said thes bullets perform best in the upper velocity spectrum (4000 fps plus) The 30 yard shot was well within those peramiters. Thumbs down. Can't wait until the last 30 are gone. I know if I start working up another bullet I will have thirty loaded rounds that will never get fired. These are 20 caliber slugs, maybe something different is happening with the 224's.

30 grain Barnes VG & 13 grains of Lil'gun. I am getting good results on ground squirrels.
