You will need a 1 in 9 twist to stablise the 50gr. The powder capacity of the 204 case is best suited to 30-40 grain bullets. I can't see that you will have anything much to gain expecially below 300 yards. Velocity wise I think you may struggle to get them going at much more than 3000fps. A those speeds drops and drifts wont be much different from a fast light bullet.

But when you have an itch to try etc then it must be scratched, please let us know how they shot.

Thank for the info. I had my gunsmith look at the twist it a 1:9. I have a Cz varmint 527 204 i have it shooting 40gr Vmax at 3950 with RL10x 27grs. I like the way it shoot its flat shooting out to 500 yrds. I just had a box of 50 berger that i bought from Cabalas in the bargin cave for 15.00 Because i want to try them but cant find any starting load info???

Have a look here;

N133 is about the same burn rate as H322 and they are showing a range of loads for N133. Looks like about 3200 might be getable but at a cost of faster barrel wear than using a cooler powder.
