Why do you want a Shepard ? I haven't had but a tiny bit of experience with them, but just started to find out why mil dots are so great. I just purchased an excellent scope from Camera Land NY named the Vortex Viper with their BDC reticule. It's a 6.5 x 20 with 30 mm tube and side para adj. I took a Leupold 6.5 x 20 off my AR and this scope, the Vortex, is by far the superior scope. Put it on Wed. morn, went to the range and zeroed it with no effort. Not bore sighted. Just one shot at 50 yds., click to zero and one more shot. Then to 100 yds, one shot , click to zero, one shot confirmed. Then a five shot group of .243". Yeah, an AR 15 shooting a .243 group ! You gotta love a rig that will do that. The scope made a big difference. Check them out at Camera Land NY. before commiting to a Shepard.
