I am looking real hard at starting a 17 AH project, and was wondering if anyone had tried Reloader 7 in theirs? It seem like it should be in the right burning rate range.

Thanks,
Drew

It will work but will be a tad slow. Look to something more like Little Gun or AA1680.

That is what I am using and love it.
I'm using 12.7 gr with 20 V-max and getting super accuracy at 3650.
There might be something better but the way this shoots I'm not looking.
The above is a safe but near max load. Start low. You know the routine.

Thanks Richard, that is what I was hoping for.

Richard,
Just out of curiousity are you using Remington or Winchester brass?
Thanks,
Drew

I use Winchester cases and WSR primers.

This is not my form load but what I shoot in formed cases.

It has been a while but it seems I used a 296 load for case forming.

Drew, I have never used R-7 (was shooting 1680 yesterday) but I can tell you that I have shot Rem's 17 AH a lil bit and have seen Rem in action with it. The results are awesome... deadly accurate and the few FPS slower than I run mine do not seem to make much if any difference in it performance!

Gary,
I use RE 7 in a couple of my rifles already, and I try to minimize the number of different types of powder I have to keep. I was able to go out with Al Pencin squirrel shooting, and he let me try out his CZ Ackley hornet. I can definately see the point in having one. With most of the shots under 300 yards, when the shooting was pretty fast I had to switch off rifles pretty regularly to keep from overheating the barrels, and that was with a .200 short 17 Remington and a 20 vartarg.
