17 spartan

This is the new one. It started life as a new 221FB CZ. I sent it off to KW to havbe his magic done to it. I had an #5 Benchmark .172" 1-9T in SS added. The Sprartan is a fireball -.200" short. It is formed in several steps. 1. 221 FB brass thru short fireball die. 2.) In small steps use a 17FB short die to form neck and push shoulder back. 3.) Neck Ream and trim to 1.200". This is a bigger brother to the Viper and a spitting image of the Gopher. I made it to do something different, at the time I knew only about the Viper not the Gopher or others. Anyway, it should break 4K+ fps with the 17gr VMAX. I am going to go and test it out on some ground squirrels this week in the "WILDERNESS", as the californians call the woods. It should work for the Yote' population aswell, only time will tell. Maybe a Condor.

adam did the viper load data help? got a little concerned when i took a close look at the spartan case, my cases measure 1.340 when trimmed but my neck is the length of the 17 remington, i like long necks. the shoulder is pushed back .25 from the 221 fb case.

My OAL Case length is 1.2" with a Fireball neck. I'll post a reamer print.

my body length is .9979" with a .2021" neck
