Well here she is, a .17-204 built by Weaver Rifles, who I can not say enough good things about. He has to be the nicest guy to do business with and truly a great gunsmith. The rifle is built on a stiller predator action with a 26 inch Krieger barrel. The barrel is a #5 contour with straight flutes. The stock is a Mcmillian Remington Varmint 60% black-20% green- 20% Lgt. gray. It has a jewel trigger and a Williams bottom metal. The scope is ziess conquest 6.5-20x50 with RZ varmint reticle. The balance of this rifle is unbelievable and so far it shoots in the .3's with some promising loads and Kevin sent a group that is in the .2's I will post some groups once I get it dialed in and get a chrono. That Weaver rifle is beautiful. Congratulations on a jewel!
Back in 93 I built a 6mm PPC on a Browning 78. Hart barrel , Canjar--the works. It shoots like a dream but is on the heavy side. Always wanted one lighter and handier as I got older and lamer. I was trying what to do with a cute little Win 70 FW in 223 Rem that had a feeding problem. There on the desk sat a 6 PPC dummy case! The thing fed flawlessly! So I got a McGowan XX 1-14 twist #2 and away we went. One neat, light little rifle not exactly your normal varmint cal but wonderful for the coyotes here as well as the occasional Blacktail deer. No long barrel at 22.5 but perfectly adequate. It certainly cant compete with your gorgeous Weaver rifle but still handy and deadly.

thanks so much I am amazed at how well the rifle balances. It shoots very well and if I can every get a more accurate scale the groups will probably shrink. With loads that it likes it is in the .2-.3's and the other stuff was under an inch.

I really like the Stiller Predator actions and the Jewell Triggers can't be beat. I think we would all be interested in the Velocity you are getting with the 30 Gr. bullets. I can get slightly over 4000 fps with my 17 Tac out of a 24 " barrel. As soon as you get a chance to run it over a chronograph, please let up know. Thanks again for sharing.....George
