I noticed that the Winchester website uses Remington 7 1/2 primers with Win 760 powder for .17 remington loads. It's interesting that Winchester would not use their own WSR primers.
What does Winchester know that I should know?
Corbin Shell used WSR primers with his 1000 yard .17 remington project rifle.

My experience is that the Rem 7.5 primer will take a little more pressure.

What Winchester knows is that their cups have a .021 thickness and the Remington 7 1/2 use a heavier cup at .025 thickness. With these little cases, pressures can spike quick and the W/W primers may not stand the pressure and the firing pin piercing the primer is a real threat. CCI450 and BR4s are also .025 FWIW. Federal 205M is .0225 and the 200s are .019. I would stick with the heavier cups and avoid possible damage to the gun.

Hello,
I'll go with the Remington 7 1/2 if I can find them. If not, a local shop has the CCI benchrest primers.
Thank you for the input,
Larry
