Its a 20 Tac deriative, he first cut the chamber with a short run 204 ruger reamer and then because that didnt give enough taper to let the case head expand and extract it has just had a 20 prac reamer run in.

The Case is a 223 put into a shortened 204 ruger fl die that pushes the shoulder back 30 thou to give the same angle as a 204 but a longer neck.

Trevort,
That's one fine CZ! The lines of that stock complement the lines of the magazine. Looks very good. What's the story on the stock? Would like to hear.
Thanks,
Bill
P.S. It looks like it's a lefty stock. That right, or just the angle of the photo?

my gunsmith had a fall out with the local distributor for HS so the stock I had been waiting on for a year never came.

This stock is made out of laminate and started as a LR benchrest blank. There is a name for the pattern just cant remember it! Anyway, he shortened it to 10 1/2 inches in the forend and cut the 3 inch width back to 1 3/4 inches wide. Its not a lefty, ambidexterous thumbhole. I asked if he could stain it to match the look of the boyds pepper laminate. He said he coud dilute some black stain but the layers of wood and glue would take the stain differently and the finished colour would be a bit of a lottery. Well some of the glue actually turned red. I was pretty happy with how it turned out. I should get to the range in a fortnight or so!

Boyds used to make a stock with that style of thumbhole for the 10/22 and you could buy it un-inletted. I'm beginning to think to get a nice walnut stock for my heavy barrel 527 custom I'll have to do the same. Buy a uninletted stock and send it up to Kevin Weaver for inletting and pillars, I had to basically do the same on a Rampro.

Has anybody tryed Richards Microfit for the CZ 527. I have used them for other projects and had good luck with them even though it takes work to get them finished. It has me thinking I may have to try it on mine.

We visited a friend on the way home and stayed for a couple of nights. The first pic is my son with some of the first nights haul
the second is me with a couple of headless bunnies courtesy of my other CZ. A 17 Mach 4 in an HS stock with a Lilja tube and rifle basix trigger.

thanks for looking

Well the JAB 20 works YEAH!!!.

Last time the wind at the range blew my chrony over, this time I thought I'd be clever and drilled a hole in the tripod feet and stuck tent pegs thru. Well that worked but...further down the line the bank must slope more steeply, tripod to short, couldnt get on the target with the rifle on the rest and still fire thru the screens soooo...
I Improvised.

I used the rear bag as a front rest and fired one shot out of each range of loads starting with the lowest and working up.

Well, blow me down, those shooters on the net that go on about re 10 giving at least 150fps over any other powder in a Tac 20 may be right.

first load around 3790, no extraction problems (thats why it went back to the smith). Yeah. So one more from each until 24.5 gns gave 3927, wow.

To check, a few 55gn 22/250 loads gave 3390 and 3400

sub sonic 22 ranged from 960 to 980 so the CED is on the money I reckon.

So with RE 10 my Jab 20 is spitting out the 39bk pill faster than my 204 ruger... GO Figure!!

oh yeah, and the accuracy from win cases that I was gonna throw away was acceptable.

These are the highest charges, four shot groups at 100m

Trevort, There are a few here in the States with similar chambers. I have two CZs that use 223 cases with 0.320 length necks in a 204 chamber. I don't feel I give up anything to the Tac 20 or 204. You can load to whatever OAL and have magazine room. Nice rifle. Kenny
