Have a question about this NEF extractor bar you made for my rifle that time. I broke it when I blew the gun up, but, made another one out of tool steel and tempered it. Guess a bit too brittle. Rider wanted to try his hand at making cases for it so I took the dies and rifle out to his place. It's always had to have a case or cartridge in the chamber or else it would close. He hasn't said how he did it, but, I'm assuming he slammed it shut and broke the damned part in the middle of the thinned down area. He's going to have it tig welded at work.
What do you think about drilling a half depth hole to fit that spring and not thin the bar. Wouldn't that do the same thing? Allow it to work on the spring. OR am I not recalling it right? Take this to e'mail if you prefer:
