Dave first off I want to apologize for not answering your post earlier, I just never noticed that I had a message waiting for me and I never got the usual flag that I had a message when I started up the web page.

Quick answer is yes a 17AH bushing die will work for a 20AH when .204 caliber bushings are used. There is no difference in the body dimensions of the two. However since you are getting a custom reamer made for your rifle I would also have a custom sizing die made around the specs of your reamer. Your brass would probably out live both of us then. Most competent gunsmiths could make the die for you, but I would ask around on Saubier for a good machinist to do that kind of work. I know there are a few but can't recall right now. They can also turn any ordinary neck or full sizing die into a bushing die. FYI.

    Larry,
Maybe you can help with this...I have been doing some reading and came across this thread about the bulge in 17AH brass and as of now I am building a 20AH I have re-designed the reamer to take out the bulge and a few other things the reamers are on order and coming from PT&G Dave Kiff looked them over and said they were a go so now what I need to know is how the collet dies work as I have never seen one and although this is a 20AH I was wondering if they made a 204 ruger collet die that I could modify in the same way and also just to put your mind at rest a 17AH will be my next project...the 20AH had to come first as I live in the no lead zone of CA and my 22k Hornet doesn't like the 30 or 36 Barnes VG's at all hopefully they will come out with a 17 lead free in the next year or so.....any pictures and explanations of the mods would be greatly appreciated.....Dave B
