Case forming lube?

Does anyone have a special or favorite lube they use when forming brass from one caliber to another?

Case forming lube

Imperial Case Wax.. A little will be all you need. About the best lube for reloading on the market. Bill K :)

Agreed about Imperial. Comes off easily too -- a little bit of mineral spirits on a cleaning patch does the trick, and I usually go over them once more with a patch moistened with rubbing alcohol.

Triple what they said.

I make my own, same stuff I use for making bullets, equal parts lanolin and bee's wax. stays fairly solid at room temp and you can just wipe your finger over it like imperial and that is enough. Melts at body temp +/- so once a die is warmed up it runs butter smooth.

While this is being discussed, how would Rooster Labs case lube work. I think that it is just lanolin carried in isopropyl alcohol. Anybody tried it? Will agree that Imperial is good stuff.

Imperial also..............

Joe not sure what you have from Red Rooster but some years ago I bought 2 different jars. One was for normal case sizing/forming and the other was extreme sizing/case forming. What I have is very tacky and harder to get off the case. I thought the extreme version would be great for forming cases like the 17 Boomer from 223 brass. I couldn't see the advantage over Hornadys Unique which is half the cost for twice the quantity of Imperial.

Joe sounds interesting you don't have a URL were we could get that stuff to give it a try?
