20vt brass

I am in the process of forming 20vt brass from 223 lapua brass by running it thru a redding 221 body die and then thru the redding 20vt body die .My problem is after i do this it flow;s to much brass into the neck area, I have order a forster .204 inside neck reamer which i ;ll use before i can trim to the right legnth .I was wondering if any of you guys are using 222or 223 brass or do most just use 221rem brass thanks 20vt

Grafs and Sons has Lapua brass for the 20VT....

It's headstamped Dakota, and is really nice stuff. Believe it is $39/100.

Graf and Sons has brass for the 20VarTarg?

I got all excited about this one. Glen, please check and see if it wasn't for the 20 Tactical. They do have this one, and I bought some. Very nice stuff.

I don't think the 20VT brass is available, yet, and based on Dakota's money problems right now, don't think it will be.

20VT,
I just recently lucked up on a really good lot of 221 Fireball brass. All the cases weighed with .5 grains of each other along with all the necks coming in at .011-.012. I was really impressed with the consistency.
Brass was purchased at Fin Fur and Feather in Ashland, Ohio.
Have Fun,
Scott

Glenn it is possible to create .20 VarTarg brass from .223 brass including Lapua (no need to use high dollar Dakota cases, just get .223 Lapua from the cheapest source). First you form it to .221 using Reddings form die set, then form to .20VT. Depending on the neck in your VT you'll quite possibly have to neck turn (outside not inside) . My .20VT has a .228 neck so neck turning is mandatory any way.
I made 50 out of Lapua and as my rifle shoots better than I can anyway the weight segregated neck turned .221 brass shoots as well for me anyway and I can't see three hours worth of extra work difference.
