Q re Forster FL die

Fireball--

Nice report. Jason and I are building a switch-barrel 6-6.5x47 and 6.5x47.

Q for you on the Forster die. I'm told it doesn't over-reduce the neck like most factory FL-sizing dies. Do...

Wipe-out also

I really like Wipe-out (the red/yellow can, not the imitations). Like Hairtrigger, I use a few wet patches first to get the loose "soot" out of the barrel. Then I apply in muzzle and wait 'til I see...

Thumbs up Thanks--this is very helpful

Thanks guys for all the good advice.

Looks like it will come down to a Pro-Shot stainless or a Dewey. My smith also said he likes the Tipton carbon because it doesn't take a set or get kinked. But...

Folks,

I'm getting a new 17 HMR. I've done a search, so forgive me if this is old hat to you, but I'm interested in your suggestions for barrel cleaning equipment.

Very good group

I can tell you that's a pretty spectacular group for a 17 Mach 2.

Stan Ware and I have been playing around with a 17 Mach 2 in a Hall action and BR stock, mostly shooting Eley ammo, and a group...

Exclamation Maple -- Northwest timber

Jim,

If you can't afford the fancy walnuts, consider myrtle, or fancy maple. Personally I've found that "quilted" aka "shell" maple is some of the most beautiful wood around, and certainly makes...

Thumbs up Thanks guys.

Gary, Dan and Alex--

Each one of the responses so far has been really helpful. I looked at the .204 Ruger Cut-down tests from Bullberry. It looks like there they did pick up 50 fps or so above...

Arrow Optimal Bbl Length for 20 VarTarg?

I'm slowly putting the pieces together for a 20 VarTarg project. (I almost quit on it after learning Lapua wouldn't be making the brass--but it still seems ideal for California ground squirrels).

Thumbs up Well done.

Jim,

Congrats on a very smooth transition.

Speed seems great for me, running a Cable connection in southern California.
The only glitch was the security code letters were so fuzzy and vague...
