7TCU Loads

CSTERNER
It's been too many years to remember powder weights and I'm in Memphis for a few days, miles away from home. I do remember that it liked H335 and 4895 but I would be afraid to quote...

LG
I had a 7 TCU, not the 6 TCU. They are the same except for the bullet diameter. There was no damage to the barrel at all from the fire forming, just a little dirty. I probably did 500 or more....

6 TCU Forming

To form the 6 TCU, just fire a loaded 223 round through the Contender. Accuracy is zilch, but you end up with a fire formed case. Then you simply run it though the 6 TCU sizing die. I used to fire a...

Once upon a time, if my memory serves me, rifle primers were all domed. I've still got some old RCBS primer seated punches that are concave to fit the domes. So I don't know the brand, but they're...

Boomer
I've got a 10/22 Ruger in 17HMR also and really like it. When I first got it, I tried all the available brands of ammo to see which one the rifle liked best. When I shot the CCI ammo I...

20 Remington Fireball?

What are the chances that Remington will come out with a 20 Rem. Fireball? I like the 17 FB extremely well and I'm starting to get a hankering for a .204 version. Is the 20 VT simply a necked down...

Going back again?

George
Oh, I'll go back again, but not for a while. I enjoy it when I go, but when I leave, I've had a fill of it. A man's head can stand just so much pounding at one time.

Yeah, I made the trip...

Some days the hunting Gods smile and some days they smirk.

Well today was as bad as yesterday was good. Murphy's law was in full effect.

The first two towns I went to were gone except for a few stragglers. The plague may have moved north of the Conata...

Smoker

Have you shot these bullets in your 22-250 yet? Unless you keep the velocity below 3500 fps with the SX bullet, all you're going to get is a short streak of gray smoke as the bullet disentigrates....

Some of both

I've tried the molys, both factory and self sprayed, and will try more, but so far haven't been able to get them to shoot as accurately as the naked bullets.

Good to see another Volunteer on here. I'd begun to think that since the groundhogs disappeared that we'd lost all our precision shooters.
