Eddie That Is A More Than A Fair Price

I also have a Rem 722 in .222. I picked up a couple Rem 788's and another 722 with 6TCU barrel for $400 each. Hope you get the price your asking for.

I always felt the CCI 400 seated the same as WSR primers. Both reacted the same with powders like 4198, 4895, 1nd 748 in a .222.

I bought 14K of WSR the silver one several years ago. Bought some of the gold and didn't like the way they seated so I'm staying with silvers until there gone. Seemed the gold primers had a rough...

Cci 400

I have used the CCI 400 and WSR in a .222 Rem and .223. Neither primer is considered a magnum primer but not all bolts will fire magnum primers anyway. I have loaded near max loads of 4198 and 4895...

The Ruger 3 was and still and is one of the best small caliber rifles Ruger ever made. Cost back in the 80's was in the $300 range. Not as popular as the No. 1 the 3 had it's followers. Somewhere I...

Weaver Bases and Rings

Bob
For angeled straight stocks like most pre-64 Model 70's the Weaver Base and Rings along the scope mounted as far forward will keep your face on the stock and give you a full field of view. This...

Glue-in/Pillar Bed or Both

All 3 methods of attaching a barreled action to a stock have merit. For your next project what do you do. Or do you accept a factory/custom rifle and pay later for a bedding job. I have had all 3...

I agree with dungheap. You expect too much out of a factory/custom rifle. Your stringing pattern is a weather report not your rifle or load.

Rick High Base & Rings Allow For Same 100 & 200 Hold

I would rather trust my face on the stock than my beard. Try holding your face off the stock with a .338. Recoil is unforgiving. For low comb stocks like most pre-64 Winchesters I use Weaver bases...

The high setting of rings off the action allows target shooters with a high comb no cheek piece stock to shoot 100 and 200 yd targets with little if any vertical adjustment to the scope.

Good To Go

Nothing wrong with your rifle, load, or set-up. Groups are fine you might try a better target with a better aiming point to hold on. Wind flags are nice, I have 83 but for a field gun why bother,...

Screwed and Glued

Pillars in the stock action and action glued in are a sure thing. Adds price but the best. I had my smith do the pillars and I glued with JB. Takes a couple days but well worth the efforts.
