Taxidermy

Getting on in years is something we all face. For me the process is involving downsizing living space which in turn will mean disposing of a half dozen sizeable mounts. I found one business in...

Primers

Perusing suppliers for any available primers I see several new names. Apparently there are some start up manufactures entering the market. Anybody have any experience with these products?

Nice Scope

I thought I would pass along an observation on the off chance some one might find it useful. About a year ago I found myself wanting a different scope for my .222 Rem Martini Cadet. Wanted something...

.204 Ruger

I know Ruger rifles get bashed pretty regularly around here, but the smallest group I have ever fired, .186", five shots at 100 yards, was with a Ruger .204 Model 77 target. That was with the...

22-250 Load Suggestions

Ground squirrel shooting is about ten weeks away and I find myself embarrassingly short on small rifle primers. I do have enough large rifle primers to see me through the season if I break out the...

Lessons you don't want to learn

Tales of handling dead rodents, as well as the so called "hero pictures" of staged dead rodents make my blood run cold. You guys do know that the fleas which infest ground squirrels are the worlds...

Powder Opinions

I have been very satisfied with Western Powders TAC. I use it in .222 Rem, .223 Rem and .204 Ruger. It meters well, doesn't seem temperature sensitive, and gives good accuracy in all my rifles.

Cadet actions

Separate Martini actions are pretty rare this side of the pond. I scored one from a gunsmith's estate many years ago for $250 and it is now my favorite ground squirrel piece in .222 Rem. You see the...

Lead Free

I tried the Varmint Grenades in both the .222 and .223 Rem and had accuracy issues. The NTX bullets have worked well for me.
