I passed on the 223 but it would have been rebarreled to a 6x45. It was a really nice one from 2003. Sweet wood grain.

I must have confused the issue and not made it clear that if going 223 it...

I've loaded belted cases off and on for more that 35 years so not new to such. I am completely lost on a reason to cut the belt area BIGGER.
The ONLY time the shoulder headspace is a concern at ALL...
