I also did some work on mine once i had the 17A/H...

I also did some work on mine once i had the 17A/H barrel on my rimspace in the bolt head was 0.072" just within specs but was getting case stretch and lost a few cases my largest case rim was 0.062"...

I got a Pacnor SS SUPER MATCH barrel but dont know how many groves but not bothered it a 1 in 10 twist so can only use 20gr heads except a 25gr hornady HPFB
it shoots and cleans perfectly

On any rimmed case head/rim space is critical the case needs to touch the shoulder and bolt face when loaded if not the firing pin forces the case forward and the pressure expands the front thinner...

thin barrels do heat up quick but cool down quick as well heavy bull barrels heat up slower but take longer to cool down it a choice only you can make how many re-loads can you do with hornet brass...
