Teslong Borescope

Following 358SCOTT's clue, I found that the top of the mirror does indeed stick out over the edge of the tube. I measured it at about 0.203". Most of the rest of the assembly measured around...

Teslong Borescope

I have one of these too. I found that it would fit my friend's .204, but will not fit either of my 5mm Rem. Mags. I'll try your fix.
I've had the Lyman bore scope for several years and all of...

Canjar for 788

I have one 788 with a Canjar trigger. I just pulled the receipt out and it is a Model 788-2/2 Deluxe Trigger and cost $27.20 on April 7, 1975. I've had it set for a 12 oz. pull for many years and...

580

How did your gunsmith deal with the extractors? I had to remove a lot of material from mine to handle the wider, thicker rim and I kind of worried about it. I've fired around 300 rds. with no...

580 conversion

I rechambered a 580 that I had made up as a .17 HMR to .17 WSM. You have to open up the extractors to take the larger rim and I put in a "Wolff" firing pin spring to get a little harder hit on the...

Smile Hornady H.P.

I used these and also the Remington HPPL on coyotes and they both shot well and never exited. I never recovered a bullet in one piece as shown. Only tiny jacket and lead fragments. In my...

Rifle primers in a handgun

It shouldn't be dangerous but they probably won't fire on the first try since the rifle primers have a "thicker" cup than pistol primers. You may wind up having to pull the bullets and start over if...

I bought the "200" pack of the new A-22 in a Ranch Supply store for $59.95. Widner's should stick to selling powder and brass. A lot of this overpricing "stuff" going on is not "supply and demand",...

This was the primary reason I had Greg Tannel bush several of my bolts. This is just another place Remington has "fallen short" in recent years.

I think it may only be the 62g Green Tip that have the steel core. I haven't actually seen anything in writing yet.

Zanders tells me they will not be getting anymore 5mm Mag. ammo. I was afraid this was coming. Since they were the ones who made the initial order this does not sound good.

I think Remington just made all the 500 series bolt back ends the same. I have a friend who has a 580 converted to .17 Mk. IV. I think they're a lot stronger than some give them credit for. I...

I formed some from .222 Rem. Brass and I wound up with a neck-wall thickness of .017". You definitely have to turn the necks and then anneal.

Eric,
I'm sure I read somewhere that the 5mm Rem. Mag. operated at 38,000 psi and not 33,000. I can't lay my hands on the information right now. Perhaps that was the "proof" load.

I've been wondering for the past few years just how many of the powders we're buying are almost like, or identical to the ones we have been using. Different "lot numbers" of the same powder with a...

New Powders

It appears that the main difference is that the new powders have the "Copper Fouling Eliminator" component added. Like CFE223 has.

I used the 25g Hornady HP and Remington 25g HPPL bullets for a bunch of coyotes back in the 80s and 90s. They both worked very well. Went in, blew up and stayed inside. No runners!

I agree that it must be your Internet Service Provider. I've not had any problem with Google on any "gun searches".
