My M38 in 22 Hornet looks just like David S's picture. Mine is an early model, 2001, with the short bolt lugs. It shoots so well, I never did the recall to modify the bolt.

No experience with Pac Nor rimfire polygonal barrels. A couple of my buddies have shot a lot of H&K centerfires with polygonal rifling used in the HK93, HK53, etc. Very accurate.
