.......to be an H&R model 317 round-top L461 barrelled action, that was put in a "custom" stock.

In 1975 and 1976 H&R imported the entire barrelled action from Sako, and then stamped the H&R info. on the barrel(only available in 222, 223, and 17 Rem). From 1968 to 1974 H&R just imported the dove-tailed L461 action, and then added a U.S. made barrel.......rumored to be from Douglas.

Too bad it's not in the original model 317 stock..............to me, the "custom" stock was not very well executed.

BTW......they even mounted the Conetrol bases backwards.

Guess I need to take inventory of all the 317 barrels, that I bought from Navy Arms years ago.
