Northman......
There are many variations in the weights of Sako L461 barrelled actions......depending on rifle manufacturer, model, and era in which it was produced.
Do you have a specific weight range that you are looking for? Kevin |

Sako Action
A SAKO vixen barrelled action complete with bottom metal and stock removed should be 5.6 Lbs. Hope this helps.

Pete: Is that a Varmint configuration? Or do you mean 5lbs and 6 ounces?
My BRNO ZG-47 barreld action in 30-06 weighs 5,5 lbs. Kevin: I was just figuring out if I should make a "ultralight" hunter on a Vixen in either Hunter or Varmint configuration, or go with something like a Tikka T3, which can be made pretty darn light. |

Northman.......
They can be made very light, or as heavy as you like.
I've an O'Brien rifle, in which the entire rifle weighs 5 pounds. Then there's the 17-222 PD rifle I built, that weighs "somewhat" more. Kevin The 17-222 Last edited by Kevin Gullette; 03-05-2015 at 05:44 PM. Reason: add pic |

My apologies Northman, our scales have to modes, Metric and Imperial. I thought it was set for metric so hit the mode button to change to imperial for you but the wife must have been using it on imperial so all I said before was incorrect. So I start again
A bare Sako Hunter Vixen should weigh 5 lb 12 ozs minus the stock which is 2 lbs so a bare barrelled action should weigh 3 lb 12 ozs. A bare Sako Varmint according to my data is 8 lb 12 ozs but I do not have a varmint stock to weigh, but the hunter and varmint stock are both the same except for the beaver forend on the varmint. Some examples of what a couple of my Sako's weigh Sako 223, SS 26" barrel, Leupold Vari-x III AO scope and Hilver steel mounts = 8 lbs 8 ozs. Sako 17 Rem Hunter, factory barrel, Hilver steel mounts, Kahles 8x56 steel scope = 8 lbs 3 ozs. Hope this is useful for you Pete
