Wow
I never thought I'd see Lapua .22-250 cases!! I always thought once they made the 6.5-47Lapua with such similar capacity there was no need or desire on there end to make a .22-250 case,I'm so glad they did though.I guess I'll never understand why and which cases get chosen, but I'm very happy to see a .22-250 from Lapua all we need now is the .221 Fireball
There is a certain stainless 40XB that will have to come out of the safe and get shot by me for the first time with this new brass, once available. Thanks Steve for this report, you've made my week! Matt

does this mean my 6/250 stays a 6/250 when it needs rebarreled, hmmmm was gonna be a 6x47L. Brass will probably cost similar!!
Any word on the likelihood of them doing 204 brass? |

22-250 lapua
What is the base measurement just ahead of the extractor groove. I was thinking of reforming 308 or 243 brass to 22-250 (Lapua, Norma or Sako). Lapua 308 brass is 0.469, Lapua 243 brass is 0.466; Norma 308 is 0.465; Sako 243 is 0.464. Norma does make 22-250 (base is 0.460). Norma is thin on the ground and very expensive. Sako is rare and expensive. Lapua 22-250 might be just the ticket because although Lapua is pricey it is available. I'm going to have the reamer reground to suit the brass that I choose.

John,
I'll get that number to you later today. As for the rest, my hope is that if the .22-250 sells well, then they will consider the next logical piece; the .221 FB. I have a 2-page article that will come out in Precision Shooting, in a month or so about the new .22-250 brass. s. Last edited by steve b.; 10-08-2009 at 02:08 PM. |

Precision Shooting and Playboy.
You read Playboy for the articles, right? I'm sure you all have enjoyed my writing in that publication. |
