Default Sako L461

I just purchased a Sako Vixen in .222 heavy barrel with a 10x Ziess scope very nice condition. It arrived at my FFL yesterday the stock was broken in half. There's real tears hear Stan.

That happens so many times when a rifle is shipped with the bolt in the action. I learned the hard way, sorry you had it happen to you. I now ship the rifle with the bolt in out of the rifle and wrapped securely in the same box. The bolt seems to provide a fulcrum point for other heavy objects to press against. That is a fine rifles but it should not be hard to find a new and maybe even better stock.

Bob,
that is a shame, I've never received a shipped gun with a broken stock, but it happens way too often. It sounds like you have a dandy rifle with a nice scope.

I'll look around but I don't think I have a factory varmint stock, I had one a while back that went to a forum member, it wasn't pretty since the previous owner had shortened then added to it and painted it black to boot.

Factory stocks are around every now and then, they're usually around $300.
I hope the shipper is taking full responsibility?

Stan

Default Sako

The FFL that sold it to me is taking care of it I asked for a full refund and he had no problem with that. I was afraid that taking hit that hard could the barrel be slightly bent? So life goes on.

This happened to me as well. I now ask the sellor how the rifle will be shipped. If I have any doubt then I buy a hard rifle case on Amazon and have it shipped directly to the sellor .

What a shame. Here you were wanting a nice rifle and that happened.

Will he take the whole rifle back, or just replace the stock? That's not clear.

I have a nice take off from mine, but, won't part with it just because someday
me or the next guy might want to put it back original.

Did you take pictures of the stock?
I for one would like to see how it was broken.

Good luck on the refund and finding another rifle for a like price.
