Bill K--I'm still debating about whether I should turn them in or not. Maybe, just maybe, my words will touch a nerve and they will obey the law in the future. Thanks for the well wishes for healing.

Joe McNeill, Screaminweasil, B23, Gerald D., moorepower--Thanks for coming along with me on this little PD shoot. I appreciate your kind words!!!

DittoHead--Thanks for the compliment on the rifles. They sure are a pleasure to shoot!!!

17VLD--I wish I was an antelope hunter and could bag a tag. I'd be on that buck's trail during hunting season. I have seen him around this dog town for three years in a row now.

I do hope those youngsters will begin to obey the laws of the land. The way people are driving all over the land in the National Grasslands is a disgrace. With the hot weather, I'd bet that every place those tire tracks show up, there's lots of dead grass there now.

Atta boy young man! Good to see you're keeping after them.

It will be a while before I get to your country, my ATV busted a strut on day one and is waiting on parts. I'll keep you posted.

LeRoy:

Great to see you're still out at 'em.
Even better that you're able this soon after
back surgery. Hope it continues to get better.

Driving on dry grass kills it for that year. Learned that
young with Dad raising cattle is this dry short grass country.
It does make a difference on pasture, if nothing is out there
on it other than p/dogs, and goats, no real harm done really.
Just looks ugly. Besides it's against the law. Just maybe they
learned a lesson. I'd make sure they got the message and turn
it in.

Stay well pard,

Chad--Maybe I'll be able to drive down and visit with you when you get your ride fixed. Keep me posted.

georgeld--I know the grass comes back, but it doesn't make as good a grazing grass as it it would have if it were green. It is ugly as sin and worse than that, when other idiots come out to the dog towns and see the tracks they think it is OK for them to drive all over too.

I really don't think buffalo grass can be killed without chemicals or digging it up.
Otherwise their huge herds would have wiped it out all over.

I think the stems are bent over and that kills it from there up for THAT season.
Next spring if normal weather, you shouldn't be able to see where anyone drove over it this summer. UGLY: Sure is.

Yes, one track, draws more idiots to drive there. IF enough do, very possible to make another permanent Two Track trail. I believe that's what the laws are trying to prevent.

LeRoy, Thank you for letting us all live vicariously through your story telling. I could could feel the warm breeze and almost taste your sandwich as I read your post. As for the young boys, you schooled them and I am sure they will not forget their experience and words with you. My understanding of charity would tell me to hope all things and believe the best in others. You did you part, now let it go. If you see them again and they are behaving well, treat them as if they never did anything wrong - no need to punish a second time. If they are not behaving well and didn't learn from their previous experience with you, take it to the next level. Just my $0.02 from working with boys and young men (and even a few old men as well!). Thanks again for sharing. Burt
