How temperature sensitive is AA2200? Is it as stable as H4198?
Thank You, Mark

I really don't know. I live in Indiana and the same load I use here I also use in South Dakota prairie dog shooting and have never had an issue. As with any ammo, I do not leave it out in the sun exposed for vast amounts of time either.

I have had no issues with AA2200 in my 20 calibers, but then again I do not leave any of my ammo sitting in the sun and overheating, when at the bench, on targets or critters. Same with 4198 and other powders I use in the 17, 20 & 224 sized cartridges, I shoot mostly. Bill K

I'll add to what Bill K just said. I have had great luck with AA2200 in my 221FB, 223 and 22 Hornet. Another great powder for the 21FB and 223 is RL7. Don't have a 20cal, but don't use AA2200 in my 172 calibers. I do live in Indiana, and have shot PDs in CO and SD. I load down slightly for known very hot weather out West and have had no problems. I use the same loads for here in IN, and absolutely do not leave my ammo in direct sun or in a loaded chamber.

First post here, but saw this and thought I would add a reference point. Had alot of 8208 at the house and ran a ladder test and my barrel settled in at 19.5 grains of 8208 with 32amax , stacking rounds into a tiny little hole at 100. Case capacity is full to say the least but it shoots like a dream, primers showed moderate flattening, magneto read 3460 out of 22” barrel. Also, these are fireforming numbers with new lapua brass.
