Glad this got sorted out....
Kevin that is a beautiful rifle.I wonder how far it has taken a pd.For the longest while the only Sako I had was a 17-222,now I have two more in 20 Dusters.
They seem to be multiplying,is that a common issue with Sakos? Matt

I have heard that Cooper and CZ often times reproduce at a faster rate than Sako.

They might in some homes but not everywhere. I long ago gave up on CZ rifles as being worth multiplying in any of my gun safes. I have bought considerably more than a baker's dozen Cooper rifles in my lifetime, and I've enjoyed all of them, but when it comes to older Sako rifles, if I find one in good shape it's probably going to come home with me. There is nothing else like them in my mind for quality and accuracy. Anything later than the 75 series of Sako rifles does nothing to peek my interest. YMMV.......... -BCB

BCB, good advice. I never had to do any real load development for my last Sako, an A-1 in 223 with great wood, maybe even a presentation stock. First load I tried in it, 50gr Sierra with AA2200, shot 0.40 MOA for 5 shots.

Any pictures of your Sako stock. I always like nice wood. Hal |

After Beretta bought Sako, the rifles that they designed became far too "gussied up" with frills for my tastes. The A-series rifles were the last of the true Sakos. Once again, JMO - BCB

Sakos
I just learned a lot about the Sakos I always lusted after. I would cast a coveted glance, much more serious than a peek, at that brand, the ones that piqued my interest for ground hog use. Being on a collegian's budget, I had to settle for an ADL.

I've only ever owned 2 Sakos, a L461 in 222 which I traded for a left hand Jongmans liteweight in 270, the other Sako I own is a 591 Battue in 308W, yes it is left bolt
I wish they had made the L461 in left hand, I'd own as many as I could find, the one I had shot 5 shot groups in under 1/2" with the first load I tried, always kicked myself for trading it but I had made my mind up to only buy and own left hand rifles. In all my searching I've never managed to find a left hand 222 though, but I did trade the l/h Jongmans 270 for a l/h Jongmans Varminter in 223 but I would like to add a 222Rem to the safe...…….Kiwi |
