Default 20-222 specs

Anyone shooting a 20-222 with Winchester brass? I would like to finalize specs on a reamer, and it seems like .232 is a good neck diameter for a no turn neck using Win brass, but would like input from those who might have one.

Thanks,
Drew

Default 20-222 print

drewh,
I've got a CZ 527 rechambered and a Rem 700 pac nor 20-222. Shoot both Win brass and Lapua. Love the round, can get close to 4000fps w/32gr and 3800 w/39gr Bk's. Did real well this past year on P-dogs. Here's a print that was given to me by one of our members. .232 neck requires no turning. My Win brass loaded w/39 BK's measures .229.

Drew, the .232" neck is perfect for Winchester brass and no turning. For the new Lapua you will need to turn however.

Drew my neck is cut at .232" as well. Winchester and norma both did not require turning.

Thanks for all of the replies, it looks like .232 will do it. Kenkong could you measure one of your fired pieces of brass for me right ahead of the extractor ring and then .200 from the base? I had seen this reamer print before ,but I think I want to tighten the body dimensions up a little. I try not to have a bulge at the back of the chamber.

Default measured win brass:

right ahead of the extractor ring: .374

.200 from the base: .3765

Drew, also dummied a couple of the new Lapua and neck measured .230

Same here; Win brass in my 20-222 Turbo (short 204R chamber) measure 0.229 loaded w/ 32gr Sierra.
No fired brass available to compare.

Measured a loaded 204R/Hornady brass, and it measures 0.226, so maybe the 222 squeezed down picked up the extra 0.003...

Greg, Your 222 and 223 brass is thicker than 204 to start with. Kenny
