I have some of the NOE moulds and cast for my .22 hornets.
In the pic below you see the NOE copy of the RCBS 55 gr. bullet I got thinking I could try it in a .223 bolt gun. Next is the 45 gr. WFN style bullet that I got for low power plinking in the Hornet. I also got a mould with a GC to push faster for hunting. Last is the 37 gr. with a GC that I first got for the Hornet to use in my magazine fed Anschutz 22 Hornets. I cast these out of hard lead (lino equiv) to make sure they formed well. The ones in the pic are culls I kept for samples. I have had some good success with the 37 gr. using lil'Gun and the 45 gr. WFN using small charges of UNQ or other fast burning pistol powder. |

Sweet, would you care to sell a few of the 37 grain w/gas check so I can try them out? That's pretty much what I was thinking about.

I think I still have some of those left unloaded. If I do I will be happy to send some no charge. PM me about them and I will look to see if I have some to send.

NOE now has some 32g .17 cal molds up for sale, running a 20% discount for a few more days. I'm trying to get him to cut some in the 20g weight range, I think it would make for a super bullet for a .17AH .17 HH, and some of the other smaller .17's. The 32g is a little long for me:
If anyone is interested let me know and we can start a group buy, if we can garner enough interest he will cut it. Link to the NOE Forum - http://noebulletmolds.com/smf/index....ic,1227.0.html

Ron- What would you use a 32gr or even a 20gr lead bullet in a 17HH for? I read on the NOE website that 2300fps would be the top end for the 32gr. That replicates the 30gr 22mag ballistics, what is the point?

Ron I'd be interested in a 25gr but would take a 20 gr if made.

The point is to have a ready supply of bullets that cost less than .02 ea. It sure would make a quiet plinking round as well as well suite for small game and minimal damage. Lead runs about 1.00-1.50 a pound (including alloy) so you are looking at 350 bullets for 1.00-1.50. Cast is not suited to the normal high velocity we run our .17's at (generally) but I have some .17's based on the .25 ACP, .32ACP, .22 Cooper, and .380 ACP that are all wonderful low velocity .17's. It certainly is not for everyone, and if you do not cast now, be careful, it is as addicting as our small calibers.

With a primer in the brass you are not held hostage like this bogus rimfire shortage.

Little tiny bullets
Has anyone here used these moulds yet to make any and fired them?
By the way, they are probably going to be quite stable.
