You are correct Gary. I've never shot a 25 grain MEF but have taken many a coyote with the 25 gr Match HP; its a fur hunter's dream.

I stocked up on the Match HP several years ago when I heard Berger was discontinuing them.

Good luck with the coyotes,

Chris

At one time offered to do a run of select 17s with a minimum

of 10,000 order. Kenny

A little bit off I know, but I really miss the 30gr varmint hp that Berger made. They shot great in my 17/204. I sent Berger a email showing my disappointment in there decision to stop making them. The relpy I got back was less than favorable. I sold everything that I had that said Berger and haven't shot 1 of there bullet's since. I've heard Sierra has a 172 bullet in R&D now.

+1 on Chans bullets, either his 25 or 30gr 17's. This is the first post I have ever seen where someone like the Berger MEF's. I think the new owners have been given some very bad marketing advice. Larry

I don't have PD or such to shoot around here, but I kill quite a few fox and coyotes with my 17 Remington each year. So far this year I've killed 15 coyotes with this bullet without a loss. Only 2 were not DRT. I've also shot 10+ fox with this load. At least 1/2 have had no exit damage, which in my book is remarkable for fox with a centerfire. Last year I shot the Hornady 25gr HP and my results were not as good. Lot's of big holes in the fox and runners with the coyotes.

It's not a huge sample, but I'm willing to pay the difference for the results I've seen this year.

Would have thought MEFs were ripe for splash wounds and guaranteed if bone gets in the way!

I have hit the leg bone on a couple and they have been messy, but if I manage to miss the leg it's 1 - 17 cal hole in, nothing out. Even on fox.
