17AH verses 17HH do they exclude each other?
From the drawings, it appears they have made the two rounds exclusive of each other, the 17HH is about .080 shorter to the sholder than the 17AH and it's sholder diameter is about .017 larger than the 17AH. Looks like neither one will chamber in the others chamber. Anyone have any real ammo to try? Anyone know who has it in stock? Larry

Eric Myer has been testing the 17HH over on Varminter.com

From the reamer prints it looks as if the 17HH can't be used for the 17AH brass. Although it can be used for Mink brass. Adam

It does seem to appear that each one cannot be chambered in the others chamber, correct? Larry

Well I am probably the lone ranger again when it comes to my wa-thoughts but I totally (and respectively) disagree. Only a wag but I am thinking along the lines of why not??? (ot/my cousin use to own a bar called the why not tavern… yeah maybe I spent too much time there years ago!) its only brass… neck it up, neck it back to 17 and finish it off in a fl die and have the fshoulder???
Ooooohhhh I c you was talking about just using the same loaded ammo interchangeably from the AH to the HH… sorry I get it now….

Gary,
I think I know why not? A reamer print is not the brass size on anything I know of. Why not. It might be closer after being fired. Why not? If you want an example, look at the Mach IV. The brass is at least 0.030 shorter than the print. Why Not? Most factory chambers of the 222 family of cases is 3 to 6 thousands larger at the base than the brass you buy. Why Not? Kenny

Sicero, by your logic, does the .22 Hornet not work in a .22 KH? Why not?? What may determine "if" it works would be the oal of the case, "why not". If you can blow out the HH to fit the AH, why not??? Just saying!

You are just saying. If you can blow out the HH to fit the HH. I don't under stand this statement. Why Not? What I am saying is you don't know the size of the brass by looking at a print of the chamber. Why Not? Thats just the way it is. Kenny
