Hmm, I would go with the single shooter also. My reasoning - you know you have one shot and may not get a second, tends to lead to shooting better therefore no need for repeater.

I asked caliber? And followed that by saying 'None specific'. That means you don't have to specify a cal.

I said I was hoping for a single shot Merkel so people would know it was a gun with a water table and couldn't be mistaken for a break barrel type like a T. Contender.

For me, I love bolt actions. I have owned both single shot and repeaters in a bolt. If I had to choose I will take the repeater everyday of the week. If I were to choose an action designed for single shot use like a falling block I could live with it.
