Default Gopher weekend

The fiancé and I headed west to Clyde Park,MT for Easter and to do some gopher shooting. She has always talked about how fun it is but I have never got to do it. I now have found a new addiction. Shooting them ground squirrels is one of the most fun things to do. I went through 450 rounds of 17hmr in one day shooting them. I will definitely be bringing my 17 hornet and 17 tactical along side my HMR for alittle more flip and goo factor.

Me with my first one

Fiance over 8 months pregnant and still was out killing them with us

Looks like you are addicted like many of us, congrats.

The one your wife shot looks like it just came out and dug some soil before gettin popped. My son, myself and some friends get to play next week, hopefully they are plentiful and cooperate.

She was dang sure right about the fun factor wasn't she ? Truly a gas, especially with that special pardner! My brides my best hunting Buddy even if she did commandeer my first CZ 452 .17 HMR, yupper, belongs to her now but at least she lets me clean it .
Laker, uh, ya know,uh, I sure don't want to mention anything that might uh, well embarrass a guy but I notice her's seems to be a head shot .
Great thread, thanks for sharing!!!

Great picks but now you are well a truly hooped. You will not believe how many thousands of rounds annually not to mention the armament selction you will need for this new addiction. But damn, it really is fun, ain't it?

Default ground squirrels

laker; The 17 HMR is good on squirrels, but I bet the 17 Hornet, 17 Tac. would put them in orbit ! sgtg out

Default Keeper for sure

Yep Laker, any gal that goes into the field and enjoys rifles and good guy-stuff like that is truely a keeper.

If she shoots like that, you may end up with friends that are embarrased to shoot with you if she's along. I've got ".45 friends" that won't go and shoot steel with me any more if Wifey goes along....she outshoots some of them!

Great pics of the day; thanks for sharing the fun.
