Hi,
Tin Star is made by Vhitavouri for cowboy shooting. Ken.

Tin Star powder
Quote from "WhistlerSWE" on Ruger Forum:
http://rugerforum.net/reloading/3393...-tin-star.html "It burns clean, smells like "baboon farts" (quote from a shooter on this weekend's PPC line) and leaves the cases slightly frosted, not sooted like many other powders." |

Does that mean it smells worse than the stuff commonly used in Russian 7.62x39 ammo. Did not think that was even remotely possible.

That Mexican 22 rimfire reeks, could chase a buzzard off a gut wagon!

Herb, that's the "Eley Priming" mix you're smelling, and yes, it reeks and burns the eyes if you get a good whiff.

I never noticed that odor when shooting the real Eley ammo, it sort of reminded me of a mineral spirits smell that I attributed to the bullet lube.
