Simmons scope question
Hey guys:
I finally got info on the mount spacings. I don't need the power of course, but, she sent a list showing: Aetec 4-14x that will fit right, or another .44 mag. same power ratings. Help me decide which. OR should I request a Bushnell and compare those?? I'm willing to throw in some $ boot to get a better glass. Maybe another $100 is all. So keep it reasonable ok? Vista Outdoors own's a bunch of scope brands so I feel there's room to negociate. Thanks.

I have had good luck with Simmons 44mag scopes, and mine are all 6.5-20x power ranges. I also have a Simmons Aetec that is a bit lower in power, has a larger objective lens, but don't like it nearly as well, even though it is a more expensive scope. To me, the Aetec has too much 'barreling' distortion in comparison to the 44Mag. The big issue for me is that all the different models of scopes have changes so much in the past ten years, who can tell is making a better product any more.

Thanks.
I have 5 I think, 6.5-20x on the varmint rifles. Haven't been out shooting since i got 'em though. This will be a 3-9, or 4-10/14x on the .300win/m. For elk hunting. IF I can get back to it again. It had a .44 mag the top adjuster froze up on. seemed to work fine for about ten years on it. I sent it in for: "repair/replacement". As I said in the other post, they sent me a Trophy that isn't long enough between tapers to fit my mounts that have been on there since 1958. From then til it went bad, (40+ years) it had a K-4 Weaver, ElPaso made.
