Default 17ah--what to do??

Have a Cooper that will shoot consistsnt quarter inch five shot groups with loads consisting of 20 grain Burgers and N-120. Unfortunately it will not shoot the 20 gr. v-max no matter what powder or how much. Of course this wouldn't be a problem were it not for the reported discontinence of both N-120 and 20 gr. Bergers. Has anyone had a similar problem, or have i simply not stumbled upon the right formal?
Any help will be appreciated.
Bob A.

I have a solution for both of us. I have 14# of VV-N120 and Berger bullets to feed it....if you need to ease your pain I'd give her a good diet of what she likes.

I believe the twist is one in ten, and if I had 14 lbs. of 120 we wouldn't be having this conversation.

I believe Alex, one of the moderators on this site, had the same problem with a Cooper .17 Ackley Hornet. If he doesn’t respond in a couple days you might send him a PM for details.

Good luck.

Well I would be interested also as I am having issues getting my 17 AH Cooper to shoot also except I have only been able to try the v-max and the Nosler 20's with no real results. Hoping there is a fix for the V-max's.

hey guys dont know but Im trying to tell you that the horndy 20gr v-max needs a faster powder.
watch the muzzle flash at night you will see powder is still burning about a foot out the barrel.
dont know why this happens only with the 20gr v-max

Rem250
In response to your observation regarding muzzle flash, I put together a load using IMR4227 and noticed what I thought to be excessive muzzle flash in day light. Have not noticed a similar problem with N-120. Since 4227 is a little slower maybe your on to something. I have enough n-120 and Bergers to keep me going a little longer and in the mean time maybe I'll stumble on to something that works as well.
Thanks
Bob

Default I think you should keep trying...

The 20 V-Max is a good bullet and as a matter of fact is probably the best shooting bullet in my 17AB.I think AA1680 and the V-Max should work well in your Cooper.
