CZ 527 Pillars
Was looking at the pillars offered by PTG but the diameter can't be correct
Length 1.202" Diameter .820" Its probably a typo just wondered if anyone has used these pillars or could recommend another make as a drop in fit for stock inlet Whoops worked it out, its the crazy way they set it measurement is the length of the two separate pillars and the don't show diameter Thanks Johno Last edited by johno; 12-04-2018 at 02:00 AM. |

You're correct, those are the lengths. Those numbers are a bit short though. I've bedded 5 of my 527's and all 5 were longer than both of those.
If you have the action out of the stock, hold the bottom metal against the receiver in its pocket and measure the gap from the tang to the bottom metal and the same at the front. I don't have my sheet handy, but IIRC my rears were all around 1.22 and fronts were .835". When I did mine, I added .005" to each measurement as I wanted the bottom metal close but not touching the receiver. All the rifles fed great after using this method. |

I've got a lathe and made them out of 1/2" aluminum round.
If you get the PTG ones, hold the bottom metal to the receiver and see if they are a loose fit in the gap. Having the mag well tight against the receiver instead of a little gap may make your bedding job less than productive. |
