17 k hornet dies

I’m looking for a two die (resize/seat) set of 17K hornet dies, prefer RCBS, or Redding.

Anyone know where they’re for sale?

You might give Huntington's/RCBS a landline ( Oroville, Ca.) they might have some or could come up with a set.

My K-Hornet dies came from Redding....F/L Sizer and their Comp Seater. Was not on the "el cheapo" list, but they had them in stock some while ago.

RCBS does not have them. Waiting a response from Redding.
Surely someone has or knows where there’s a set of 17K hornet dies collecting dust and are for sale.

Do you have a 17 Kilbourn Hornet or a rare 17 Kimber Hornet? If a 17 Kilbourn Hornet, one might get a standard Redding fl 22 k hornet die(#91362) and have JLC Precision convert it to a bushing die for sizing with the proper size bushing and obviously w/o the 22 caliber guts.
For a seater die I believe you could use a Hornady 17 seater(# 44101). Hornady supplies this die as a seater for 17 Hornady Hornet, 17 Fireball, and 17 Remington.. JLC Precision does good work at a reasonable price but I am not sure if Jim is still doing the bushing die conversions. Info on JLC Precision follows. Best to call his cell.

PS: With a relatively low pressure round and a relatively sharp shoulder angle, one may not need to fl size and bump the shoulder. May get quite a few reloads only neck sizing. May just be able to back-off a 17 Hornet fl die and only neck size. Significantly cheaper approach if it works.

Some info. that I could find on chamber dimensions.
shoulder angle= 35(K), 30(Ack), 25(Horn)
shoulder diameter= .288(K), .289(A), .294(H)

If I'm not mistaken a set of 17 Ackley hornet dies will work just fine, and will be a lot easier to find. Not cheap but easier to find.

I have bought an original Kimber of Oregon, model 82 in 17K hornet. I’ve not received yet.

df06, I collect a few Kimbers of Oregon and have first printing(Sept 1985) of the Kimber Enthusiasts & Collectors Manual. Relevant info on your rifle follows:
1. Kimber produced no 17 Kilbourn Hornets.
2.Kimber introduced the 17 Ackley Hornet on 12/20/83 and produced only 9 rifles before the 12/23/83 completion date.
3. Kimber introduced a 17 Kimber Hornet R2 on 10/3/84. The R2 stands for Revision 2. A couple of prototypes were chambered in an original configuration but velocity was unsatisfactory. The R2 version resembles the 17 Ackley Hornet.
As of Feb. 1985 they had produced 87 rifles and production was ongoing. Rifles were available in Classic and Custom Classic versions. Rifles had a Shilen match grade barrel. The serial numbers have a 17KH prefix.

Mine is a NIB, made in 1985.
So would 17AH dies work for loading for this rifle?
