Well... there isn’t much more info in SCN. Issue 4-1 has an intro and those prints and that’s about it.

Case capacity is somewhere between the ppc and br case. Thinking I might pass on 17&20 cal as to not duplicate. I need to look at what I have in 22 but 6mm &/or a 1/4 bore sounds interesting.

Gary:

IF you want a 6mm. Just stick with the great .243
and cut your costs and problems.

I just put a Timney trigger in the 1917 Enfield build I had made.
Fired 7 times in the shop trap. Doing just great so far.
26" Shaw, .650" @ muzzle. Nice gun.

just got the rebarreled .300win/m back too. .700" x 26" on
my first big rifle from 1958. Another '17 Enfield. Shot it 3 times
out there. Much less recoil than it ever had. Glad I went with a bit
heavy barrel.

Sounds good George and I started most all of my kids out in a 243 with reduced loads. Just thinking what I can do with this brass lol

Gary,

Was going to have David White do a barrel stub at one time, ending up giving up on the project. Since then I got a T/C Contender and at one point want to have Bullberry make me a 6mm based off the 30/30 case hence a 6mm Bullberry..

I know there are many options out there in terms of 6mm but there is something interesting about wildcats based on the 30/30 case that has my attention.. I really enjoy the 357 Herrett.

below- picture from the net, 6mm 30-30

Seems as though you and I suffer from the same boredom, lol....

I was looking hard at the 6mm Bullberry. It’s a longer case than what I have (Fred’s classic) but seems a better choice especially if using for a deer hunting round.

Thinking cheap lol I was also considering looking for a set of inexpensive dies that could work, something like a 7-30 waters run in short and cut dies to length. Last time I did that I said I wouldn’t do it again lol. Whatever it’d be, it couldn’t have much taper.

And thanks for the picture and link, appreciate it very much

Default You guys who shoot Todd Kindler's Classic Series

The 30-30 case is a good base, but have any looked at and considered some of J.D. Jones (SKS Industries) cartridge's ?
Some on the 444 Marlin case and some on the 225 Win.
I have some in 375, 257 JDJ's, both pistol and rifle length barrels, and have considered adding a 6 or 6.5 JDJ to the fold. Strong cases too work with, easy to form and dies and bullets are available. Bill K

I have not yet looked at the JD Jones very closely Bill. Thanks it sounds like I need to.

My deal is that I have this brass already made up and thinking I need to build something to shoot it in lol. As you can see by the start date of this thread, it’s been taking up valuable real estate in my reloading room lol

This is what happens when you get a call from a really nice guy who ask me if I’d like some 6mm Classic brass? Lol

Far left is the 6mm based off the 225 Win. case. Not to sure how easy getting .225 cases are? The 444 cases start with the 309... I would imagine because necking down a .444 case to .243 would be a lot.... .225 up no big deal... The 30/30 seems a bit easier maybe even cheaper?
